Homepage Newsroom News Beyond.pl Data Center Campus being prepared to support 150 MW Beyond.pl Data Center Campus being prepared to support 150 MW 6 September 2024 Beyond.pl, a data center, cloud, and Managed Services provider and owner of data centers in Poland, is expanding its colocation project for AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing solutions launched in January this year. The company announced that it is working to increase the target capacity of its campus in Poznan by almost 2 times – from 86 MW to 150 MW. The project will allow Beyond.pl to make available on the Poznan campus colocation space with at a minimum Rated 3 standard to support the most advanced requirements from customers in the AI space. Currently, the Data Center 2 facility located on the campus with a target capacity of 42 MW, is among the most secure facilities in Europe. It is the only multi-tier data center in the EU with ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 certification and EN 50600 Class 4 standard for its active data halls, confirming the facility’s highest security and availability standards. Moreover, the data center has delivered 100% uptime since its commissioning in 2016. According to the company, the new colocation space will be technologically prepared to support IT infrastructures with a high power density of 130+kW per rack, which is crucial for artificial intelligence infrastructure colocation. – Our readiness to launch investments in new colocation spaces on the Poznan campus is a response to the dynamically changing needs of the market, primarily the demand from companies focused on AI deployments. We are currently ready to deliver infrastructure solutions with high power density parameters within 12 months of the customer order. We have secured land, electricity, and all resources required to quickly deploy space for the most demanding colocation projects. More importantly, we can tailor this new colocation space and power to meet the customers’ specific needs, says Wojciech Stramski, Beyond.pl CEO. Given the technical requirements for colocation of high-density IT infrastructure, the new colocation space may use a combination of different cooling technologies to make the best use of the climatic conditions in Poland, ensuring the lowest power consumption (PUE) and water (WUE) losses for the maintenance of the IT infrastructure. Beyond.pl can, among others, leverage liquid cooling, including direct-to-chip (up to 130kW/rack), immersion cooling, and rear door cooling solutions – tailored to the customer’s configuration. – We now have the option of arranging entire buildings as well as individual data halls according to customer requirements. Our differentiator is flexibility in the choice of solutions, which simultaneously means technological freedom for customers. We are committed to building an environment that, through optimal cooling and waste heat recovery technologies, will lead us to an annual PUE of less than 1.2. Combined with 100% renewable energy contracted based on PPA models, we can build a very competitive offering against alternative options on the European market. Our knowledge of the technologies available on the market and our experience to date positions us perfectly for high quality service delivery of colocation of high-density solutions, says Piotr Kowalski, Head of Innovation at Beyond.pl. The company confirms that the increased campus capacity will continue to be powered by 100% renewable energy. Beyond.pl is Poland’s first data center operator to start powering its facilities solely based on renewable energy sources. – Digital transformation must be realized in a sustainable manner. This is why we work diligently to ensure that our data centers are powered by renewable energy while concurrently optimizing our processes to minimize resource consumption, explains Wojciech Stramski adding: – With the AI industry developing so rapidly, the generally growing demand from businesses for data center services, and the guidelines coming directly from the EU energy efficiency directive (EED), such an operating model is a necessity. The Beyond.pl campus is strategically located halfway between Berlin and Warsaw. Its geographical location provides optimal, secure, and fully redundant data transfer times (latency) to many European cities, such as Berlin and Warsaw (4ms), Prague (7ms), Frankfurt (11ms), Amsterdam (16ms), and London (24ms) round trip. Beyond.pl provides services to more than 500 Polish and international companies, which are supported by 80+ high-technical experts, over 30% of whom are seniors with more than 15 years of experience in complex IT projects. The company’s additional certifications – ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2 type 1 and type 2 also confirm the quality of services and their compliance with international standards. Customer data is processed in accordance with GDPR and EU and Polish FSA regulations. Beyond.pl is owned by a private, international investment house, Kulczyk Investments.
