The two entities with roots in the Greater Poland region are both leaders in their respective sectors. Beyond.pl provides secure and sustainable data centers and cloud services. In Poznan, the company has two data centers connected by a private dark fiber ring. The Data Center 2 facility is recognized as the most secure data center in Poland and one of the most secure facilities in the EU, as confirmed by the ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 certification. The company’s operations are also distinguished by a very conscious approach to sustainability, including the use of 100% green energy to power its data centers and their high energy efficiency (Power Usage Effectiveness at 1.2), which translates into significantly lower energy consumption compared with other data centers operating in Poland or Europe. On the other hand, Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology is the second largest institute belonging to the Łukasiewicz Research Network in Poland. The institute currently consists of six research centers, which focus on logistics and modern technologies, digital transformation, rail vehicles, plastic processing, and agricultural, food and wood technologies. Each center implements work within individual interdisciplinary research groups that respond to market needs.

The research centers of the new institute operate in areas of wood technology, metal forming, rail vehicles, agricultural and food technology, logistics and information technologies.

The merger of the five institutes into one extends the research and commercialization potential as well as it enables more effective competition for customers and international R&D projects.

As a result of the merger, new interdisciplinary research directions are created, which facilitates, among others, in acquiring international grants and foreign business partners for projects with a high degree of innovation.
