Beyond.pl Cloud Academy – Long-term Educational Initiative

Poznan, Poland – 15 June 2018 – 3 cities, over 100 IT Specialists, 15 hours of debates among practitioners and 6 speakers – that is the first edition of Beyond.pl Cloud Academy in a nutshell. Open workshops took place in Poznan, Wroclaw and Gdansk.

“We focused on transferring knowledge in the area of cloud computing. High attendance and in particular engagement of participants proved that such format of events works perfectly,” sums up Aleksandra Ochranowicz, the Project Coordinator.

The main goal of this initiative is a technical presentation of the aspects of cloud computing. The main topic of the 2018 edition is “Efficient cloud implementation”. Presentations of Beyond.pl experts covered solutions based VMware, e24cloud, Microsoft Azure and Azure Stack as well as Veeam. The special guest was Michal Burnejko from Chmurowisko, who presented good practices regarding the first implementations in cloud.

“We want to show that cloud computing is an effective and efficient way of data processing,” says Ochranowicz. “The choice of technology or the scale of migration alone depend on individual needs of enterprises. Our engineers in the first place emphasized the potential of cloud together with its new business possibilities. In Poland still only 10% of companies use cloud. We hope that our educational initiative will make this number grow,” adds Ochranowicz.

The participants of the workshop in Poznan had also a possibility to walk through the educational path at Data Center 2, which presents the key systems of data center operations. Attendees from other cities received an invitation to visit the Beyond.pl complex. Opinions of participants proved, that getting a first-hand experience of how data are protected in a data center added an extra value to this event.

“The engagement of global technology partners indicates the prestige of the event. Workshops were supported by Veeam, VMware, Dell EMC and Microsoft,” emphasizes the Project Coordinator. The event was supported by the following media: ITWiz, IT Professional and Chmurowisko.

“We are already thinking of next year’s edition. Participants already shared with us some ideas of interesting leading topics. We would also like to organize workshops in additional cities. We want Beyond.pl Cloud Academy to be a long-term educational initiative which will become a permanent fixture on the IT specialists’ calendars,” ends Ochranowicz.
